Public Transport in Sofia
Sofia enjoys three different means of public transport, as tram, busses, and trolley busses. It covers most of the city from 5 a.m. till midnight or one. A short section of underground has recently opened. It connects “Lyulin” , one of the biggest residential districts of the city with the centre. Two-cabin and two-seat lifts connect Sofia with Vitosha national Park. About 85 per cent of travellers use the public transport, which is consequently the reason for its socio-economic importance.
Tickets
Tickets are valid for a single use, for any distance on any line (each transfer needs another ticket). They can be bought at kiosks for 80 stotinki (0,40 Euro). You have to punch your ticket inside the vehicle by using the metal punch on the wall.
