The main topic was the analysis of the improvements achieved so far in the
partner cities especially regarding the process of mapping out the urban
green space strategies and preparing the next steps.

experiences reported by Richard Taylor the manager of the Leisure Community
Development of the Torbay Council,
The workshop was being organised by Rev8 - Józsefváros Rehabilitation
and Urban Development Co. As the workshop took place in the rehabilitation
area the participants had the opportunity to be acquainted with the
Magdolna Quarter
Programme. This programme is a first trial in
implement renewal of a multiple distressed urban district with the large
involvement of the residents and integrating social, cultural and technical
measures.
Also the pilot project area - the Renewal of the Mátyás square - could be visited
several times. Mátyás square is the first action in a public area within
the Magdolna Quarter Programme. The purpose is to (re-)develop the site for
the community which contributes to increase the resident’s retention in
the neighbourhood and the enhancement of the living standards.
The abstracts of the workshop will be available here soon.
